c.1956 Haji Water Skier w/Outboard Motor Boat in Original Box
Unusual friction driven Outboard Motor Boat with Water Skier by Haji. Fantastic near mint condition comes complete with original box. Tough to find especially with the box and in this condition! Set consists of red, white, and blue embossed tin litho motor boat with working tin litho "Speedo" outboard motor and propeller with steerable rudder. Friction drive mechanism engaged by manually winding the crank which starts the propeller spinning. Simultaneously produces a high whining motor sound. Works for a pretty long too! The boat is marked "Haji" and "Made in Japan". It also has its original blue tinted celluloid windshield with chrome plated frame. The female water skier is connected to the boat with the original tie line and two slender metal rods. Both the rod and skier are hinged to fold in half to fit inside the box. The woman is painted vinyl (the squishy soft kind). The skies are also vinyl but are firmer. The original box has a neat color illustration of the motor boat towing the eagerly waving skier.
